Edit Menu

This menu contains editing functions which are common in the Windows operating system environment such as cut, copy, paste, redo, undo and more.

  Undo

This function is used to cancel the last action operated. It is possible to activate the function more than once (by pressing the sub-menu a number of times) in order to cancel a number of last actions. It is possible to define the number of actions that will be saved to memory through the Options sub-menu found under the File menu (default is the last ten actions). In order to reconstruct the actions that were cancelled, use the Redo function.

  Redo

This function is used to reconstruct the last action that was cancelled (by the Undo function). It is possible to activate the function more than once (by pressing the sub-menu a number of times) in order to reconstruct the number of last actions cancelled. It is possible to define the number of actions that will be saved to memory through the Options sub-menu found under the File menu (default is the last ten actions). In order to cancel the actions that were reconstructed, use the Undo function.

  Cut

This function activates the cut operation on an image (the cut operation copies the image to the Windows Clipboard and afterwards erases the original image). After copying the image to the clipboard, you can easily Paste it to any program in the Windows environment that allows the pasting of images.

  Copy

This function is used to copy the active layer/selected area on the active layer to the Windows clipboard. After copying the image to the clipboard, you can easily Paste it to any program in the Windows environment that allows the pasting of images.

  Copy Merged Layers

This function is used to copy the entire picture/selected area on the picture to the Windows Clipboard (as opposed to Copy, which (only) copies a single layer or part of it). After copying the image to the clipboard, you can easily Paste it to any program in the Windows environment that allows the pasting of images.

Paste

This sub-menu contains a number of functions which allow you to paste an image from the Windows Clipboard into a program in different variations.
  • Paste As New Image - This function creates a new picture, pasting into it the picture saved from the (Windows) Clipboard.
  • Paste As New Parent Layer - This function creates a new layer on the active picture, pasting into it the picture saved from the (Windows) Clipboard.
  • Paste Into Current Image - This function creates a bitmap/object on the active layer, in the active picture, pasting into it the picture bitmap/object from the (Windows) Clipboard.
  • Paste Into Selection - This function pastes the content of the saved picture from the (Windows) Clipboard into the selected area on the active layer in the active picture. This function is only available when an area on the active layer is selected.
  • Paste As New Outline Selection - This function creates a new selection area on the active layer in the active picture. The function will paste only the selected mask as it was saved with the picture copied to the (Windows) Clipboard.

Clear Clipboard

This function clears all the information stored on the Clipboard. After having copied a large picture to the Clipboard, it is recommended to clear the content of the Clipboard when you are done in order to vacate the memory resources which the saved picture occupies on the Clipboard.
